The Secretary of Environment and Sustainable Development through its Working Group on Aquatic Resources (Grupo de Trabajo de Recursos Acuáticos) carries out projects and actions aimed at conserving and sustainable using of wetlands, aquatic biodiversity and marine and freshwater fisheries, with the assistance of scientific and academic institutions, and with the agreement and participation of local, provincial and national authorities and related institutions. In particular, the Working Group on Water Resources worked on the development of the National Plan of Action to reduce the mortality of Albatrosses and Petrels in Argentina (NPOA-Seabirds). In addition, the secretariat proposes actions for the sustainable management of fisheries and aquatic biodiversity conservation with the competent courts, national and provincial.
