The 2012 Inter-Sessional Meeting of the Sub-Committee on Ecosystems of the International Commission for the Conservation of Atlantic Tunas (ICCAT) will be held in Sète, France over 2 - 6 July 2012.
The objectives of the meeting include continuing to provide results on research on the impacts of mitigation measures on catch rates of bycatch and target species, and to define the strategy to evaluate the efficacy of the seabird by-catch mitigation measures listed in Supplemental Recommendation by ICCAT on Reducing Incidental Bycatch of Seabirds in ICCAT Longline Fisheries [11-09].
A Plan of Action for the period 2013 to 2015 to evaluate the efficacy of the seabird by-catch mitigation measures defined under the 2009 supplemental recommendation will also be discussed. Click here for the meeting's agenda.
It is intended to report here on the outcomes of the meeting once they become available.
