The International Commission for the Conservation of Atlantic Tunas met for the 21st time in Recife, Brazil in November this year. A press release of the meeting's decisions may be read at http://www.iccat.int/Documents/Meetings/COMM2009/PressReleaseCom2009-ENG.pdf.
The meeting did not reach consensus on proposals to reduce bird bycatch put to it by its Standing Committee on Research and Statistics (SCRS) (click here for an earlier ACAP news item).
