The Inter-American Tropical Tuna Commission (IATTC) is meeting this week for the 80th time in La Jolla, California, U.S.A.  On the agenda  is a consideration of the now-available report (IATTC-80-08a) of the IATTC Technical Meeting on Seabirds held in Del Mar, California on 11 May (click here for an earlier news item on this meeting).

Following on from the technical meeting, the Director and staff of IATTC will prepare a draft resolution for the consideration of the IATTC that will “…likely express the need for more information, call for more observer coverage of industrial longliners, and suggest appropriate mitigation measures.”
